Pall-Ex is taking on the March in March challenge

Pall-Ex is putting its best foot forward this month, as staff and members take on the March in March Challenge in aid of Combat Stress.

The annual challenge, organised by the veteran’s mental health charity, tasks individuals and teams alike to walk, run or even march 10 miles in total during the 31 days of March.

The funds raised by participants go directly to the charity, which provides help for veterans who require support with their mental health.

For the second time, Pall-Ex is taking on the challenge with some members of the team hoping to complete the full ten miles in one day, whilst others will be accumulating the distance over the course of the month.

The challenge is an ideal opportunity to combine daily exercise with charity fundraising, with some even planning to use their daily dog walks to conquer the challenge!

Taking part in March in March highlights Pall-Ex’s ongoing support for the armed forces community, after the business was awarded the Silver Award for the Armed Forces Covenant’s Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) in 2020. This recognition designates the company as a ‘forces friendly’ employer.

Abby Langley, Head of Group Marketing at Pall-Ex Group has been at the forefront of Pall-Ex’s partnership with Combat Stress and recognises the importance of participating in challenges such as this.

She comments: “Our ongoing partnership with Combat Stress is something I am really proud of.

“Members of our team have been to see, first-hand, the great work they do and that inspires us to support the charity through challenges such as.

“March in March is a fantastic opportunity for Pall-Ex and its members to do just that, whether people are running or walking, every step counts during March as we aim to raise over £1,000.

" Getting out in the fresh air, especially in the current climate, is so important for all of our mental health, so encouraging our staff and members to take part benefits our wellbeing as well as helping Combat Stress.”

Due to social distancing in place throughout March, the team will be completing the challenge individually or within their household bubbles but will submit recordings of their activity to a central portal on the Combat Stress website.

Maggie Bennion, Senior Corporate Fundraising Officer at Combat Stress explains how the funds raised by the Pall-Ex team help to support veterans.

She comments: “We are extremely grateful to everyone at Pall-Ex for their continued support, especially the team taking on this year’s March in March Challenge.

“The money raised helps us deliver much needed support to veterans who are struggling with their mental health.

The Covid-19 pandemic has had a huge impact on everyone, so fundraising such as this is vital to ensure we can be there to continue delivering help to those who need it most.”
