The Pall-Ex team has completed its March in March challenge in aid of Combat Stress.
The team, headed up by members of the Pall-Ex marketing team, took on the challenge that tasks participants with walking 10 miles either in one day or over the course of March.
The team organised a number of marches, local to the Pall-Ex hub in Coalville, Leicestershire, to which they invited other members of Pall-Ex staff to join them.
Marches One and Two were undertaken as planned in early March. However, following Government directives to reduce social gatherings and then to work from home where possible in response to the growing Covid-19 pandemic, the team have been completing their 10 miles independently at home.
Despite the cancellation of the final two formal marches, the team have raised a brilliant £300 thanks to the extremely generous support of many people.
Abby Langley, Pall-Ex’s UK & European Marketing Manager explained why she has enjoyed the March in March Challenge.
“We wanted to take on the challenge to support our charity partner Combat Stress and the great work they do supporting veterans’ mental health.
“Knowing our marches were raising money to help such a good cause was amazing motivation.
We have raised a great amount of money for Combat Stress, so thank you to everyone who supported us and donated on our page!
“It is a shame we couldn’t complete all the marches together, but it is understandable given the current climate.
Getting out of the house on our own to make sure we got all the miles done has really benefited all of us, both physically and mentally, especially over the last week.”
The funds raised by Team Pall-Ex will help Combat Stress provide outstanding care and support for veterans who are struggling with their mental health.
