A successful 12 months for Loop Logistics

Established in 2000 and having joined Pall-Ex in 2017, Loop Logistics is celebrating a highly successful period of growth following the implementation of a strategic and commercial success plan in 2022.

Covering the NN and MK postcodes on behalf of the Pall-Ex network for the last few years, 2022 was the year the business witnessed significant expansion, including moving into their new 60,000 sq ft warehouse on the Westgate Industrial Estate in Northampton.

The facility supports the company’s general haulage and pallet network operation and marked the beginning of the vision to offer a full logistics solution including services such as warehousing, storage, fulfilment, pick-and-pack, and returns processing.

Thanks to the success of the new facility, Loop has appointed 10 additional employees and looks to employ at least five more in early in 2023.

Adding key personnel to the business has been pivotal to Loop’s success.

Roy Garnham joined the business full time just over a year ago as CEO, boasting an impressive background in strategic management. He has been instrumental in supporting his nephew, Managing Director Dennis Shaw, in taking Loop forward.

In the first three years of trading, Loop has seen an impressive 57% increase in sales in year one, a 42% rise in year two, whilst year three is predicted to be stronger.

Roy reflects on the last few years and business success: "The last few years have been a challenge for anybody in the Transport Sector, from legislation, driver shortages, the global pandemic, the list goes on. We have focussed on improving in areas where we could see the potential within the business and spent time creating the infrastructure to aid future growth all underpinned by our dedication to ensuring the best service possible for our customer base."

“We needed to look to the future, the logistics sector is such a fast-paced environment it’s sometimes difficult to take a step back and review the business. We needed to diversify and offer our new and potential customer base a complete logistics solution, to do this we need to secure a larger space and have the infrastructure and people in place to support our expansion, which has been made possible by our success to date.

“We have nearly 6000 fully racked pallet spaces with additional floor space for oversized freight, we also invested in a new warehouse management system to support the additional services and give us full visibility on the freight we store. The new facility has resulted in 15 new customers with only 25% of the space left unoccupied.

“The team is already in talks with a range of local blue-chip customers and to ensure they deliver the best service possible Loop is also working towards their BRCGS Global Food Safety Standard Certificate which they hope to achieve in March 2023.”

Pall-Ex Group is proud to have members who are continually improving all aspects of their business, by working together and winning together we can offer a truly sector-leading service across the UK and beyond.
