Pall-Ex Unveils 20th Anniversary Plans

Pall-Ex is preparing to celebrate its 20th birthday, with a year of events and initiatives that will make a big difference to members, customers and charities across the UK.

The European palletised freight specialist has officially launched its ‘20 Ways to Make a Difference’ campaign to coincide with the unveiling of the network’s new strapline – ‘Making the Difference’.

Over the course of 2016, Pall-Ex will launch new initiatives for members and customers, and donate time and resources to charity work.

A series of marketing masterclasses and webinars for members, and the launch of Pall-Ex’s own awards scheme are just some of the elements already planned this year. They will be joined by competitions, charity donations and several surprise announcements throughout 2016.

The year will culminate in the 20th anniversary dinner and dance, which will be held at Celtic Manor, Wales, in November.

Over the past two decades, Pall-Ex has grown from a primarily UK-based network into a market-leading player across multiple European territories, including Italy, Spain, Portugal, Romania and France. Most recently, Pall-Ex launched a new partnership with Bulgaria, Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg, and is looking ahead to expand into Germany, Hungary, Slovakia, Czech Republic and Scandinavia over the next few years.

Commenting on the launch of ‘20 Ways to Make a Difference’, Pall-Ex Group managing director Kevin Buchanan said:

“Pall-Ex exists because of our hardworking staff, dedicated members and loyal customers. This year, we’ll be celebrating each and every one of them and showcasing exactly how, together and individually, we make a difference to both the supply chain and wider community.

“In conjunction with Hilary, we’ve created an exciting calendar of events that pays tribute to the business she set up back in 1996. Alongside our campaign, our day-to-day work continues and reinvestment to increase quality remains an important part of our strategy for 2016.”

Reflecting on the past 20 years, Pall-Ex CEO Hilary Devey said:

“Back in the mid-90s it was an uphill battle. Bankers refused to back my proposed venture and the road to success was littered with obstacles. Even once we were up and running, it wasn’t easy.

“However, we’ve shown determination over the years and I’ve had a fantastically talented team alongside me. There were those who said Pall-Ex wouldn’t even last 12-months, but 20 years later we’re still here and still leading the charge from the front. In 2016, we’ll be looking back and celebrating our history, but we’ll also be looking ahead to the challenges and successes that are still to come.”
