Pall-Ex members in pole position at awards ceremony

Pall-Ex has celebrated a successful 2017 at its own prestigious awards event, as it makes plans to accelerate its achievements for the year ahead.

Hailing 2018 its time to shine, the haulage giant presented accolades to its stars of logistics, including network members and its own staff, at a glittering awards ceremony hosted by Sir Lenny Henry and held at the East Midlands Conference Centre.

The event also marked the organisation’s triumph in establishing itself as the number one pallet network for quality, having introduced operational changes to improve efficiency and load quality over the last 12 months, making it market leaders in damage reduction, and agreed partnerships with a number of big names.

Surrey-based Cranleigh Freight Services Ltd drove away with the sought-after Depot of the Year accolade, which was voted for by members of the Pall-Ex network and was based on the firm’s first-class customer service, communication and helpful manner.

ADD Express Ltd, of Yorkshire, also picked up a coveted award, after being selected for the Outstanding Contribution to the Network, chosen by Group managing director, Kevin Buchanan.

Shropshire-based CDK Pallet Distribution, Matthews Haulage Ltd, which is based in Hertford, and Mars-Jones Ltd of Denbigh in Wales were all named Highest KPI Performer of the Year 2017 in their respective categories, based on their delivery times and lack of damages.

Regional winners were also celebrated, with Bullet Express Ltd winning for Scotland and the North, Linkline Express Services Limited winning for the Midlands, K2 Transport Ltd for the South East and I.C Express Ltd for the South West.

The winners were all selected due to their growth during 2017, compliance, quality distribution, communication and partnership with Pall-Ex.

Additional award winners include Harbour International Freight Ltd, which picked up the Business Development Member of the Year 2017, Neill & Brown Global Logistics, which was named New Member of the Year 2017 and Pall-Ex Iberia, which was awarded European Network of the Year.

Kevin Buchanan, Group managing director at Pall-Ex, comments:

“We are proud of the contribution all of our members have made to the Pall-Ex network over the last 12 months. It has helped to establish us as the leading logistics brand in the UK and across Europe, and as the number one network for quality, which we will continue to build upon with a number of measures we are introducing during 2018.

“Pall-Ex Awards are designed to celebrate and reward our network members who have gone the extra mile to deliver exceptional service, while also inspiring other members to continue to strive for excellence, and highlight members of our in-house team who have enabled us to go from good to great over the last 12 months.

“We are particularly proud of the contribution of ADD Express Ltd, which I selected for the accolade of Outstanding Contribution to the Network, and Cranleigh Freight Services Ltd, which was voted Depot of the Year due to their commitment to the network and working to the highest standards.

“We look forward to the year ahead and hope this event has motivated our members to view 2018 as their time to shine.”
