Pall-Ex in Poland welcomes its new Managing Director, as Pall-Ex Group Limited makes another significant appointment to support its European growth.
Sebastian Plesiński takes on the role, having previously been the Sales and Marketing Director for logistics giant DSV.
Now at the wheel of the Pall-Ex’s Polish operation, he brings with him 20 years’ logistics and international business knowledge and experience to the role.
Whilst working with DSV, Sebastian oversaw the company’s revenue increase by over 50% during a five-year period, helping it to become one of the five largest logistics businesses in Poland.
In addition to his time as DSV, Sebastian also worked with brands such as GEFCO and UPS.
His vast levels of experience encompass numerous fields including the management of sales departments of transport services across road, air and sea, plus courier and contract logistics.
Now, as he begins his new role, Sebastian comments:
“There is no doubt that our biggest challenge right now is the current economic situation related to the pandemic. Government restrictions and market uncertainty mean that, firstly, volumes are unpredictable, which disturbs the operation of the network and influences all forecasts. Secondly, openness to changes of potential new network members and customers is much lower than before the pandemic.
“The business model of Pall-Ex is different from the corporate groupage operators I have worked with previously, although the service offered to the final customer is the same. It will be a challenge for me to use my experience in building groupage models into an associated network, where each member of the network is also a customer and should be treated in the same way.
“The most important task for the next 12 months is to complete the network and add strategic, quality, regional members; without these, it is difficult to plan daily operations and ad-hoc activities can become expensive and ineffective.
“The next task will be to prepare the central hub for the volume increases that we plan to bring in the coming years and to further develop our relationships with the other Pall-Ex partners throughout Europe for cross-border volume.”
“His sector knowledge and insight will prove vital in maximising the potential of our Polish operation, its members, and supporting the network through this challenging period.”
As Sebastian looks ahead to the challenges in the coming years and how best to tackle them, he also revealed that he is also committed to taking on a challenge or two outside of work!
Explaining this, he comments:
“Three years ago, I started running long distances, last year I added triathlon to it and this year I started MBA studies. My ambition is to complete the full Iron Man distance within the next three years.”
It is hoped that Sebastian’s dedication to facing challenges will see Pall-Ex in Poland continue to develop and go from strength to strength.
