Mark Steel heads to his home track this weekend, as the Volkswagen Racing Cup rolls into Donington Park in the East Midlands.
Pall-Ex, the quality palletised freight network's Director of Sales and Marketing enjoyed a solid weekend last time out at Silverstone, securing vital championship points.
He currently sits in 11th place in the championship, which is impressive considering 2019 is Mark’s first season in the Volkswagen Racing Cup after stepping up from the VAG Trophy class, in which he competed last year.
Donington Park is a circuit Mark knows well and enjoys, having taken victory here in the VAG Trophy at the end of last season, and having completed tests there earlier in the year.
Looking ahead to the weekend, Mark comments; “It should be a great weekend at Donington Park.
“It has to be one of my favourite tracks and I always seem to go well here, so I’m excited to build on the positive weekend I had at Silverstone last time out.
“Being my home circuit is also great as it means family and friends can come and watch me race, which makes it even more special.”
Qualifying takes place at 14:00PM on Saturday, with Race One taking place later that evening, at 17:45PM.
