Pall-Ex backed racer Adam Morgan returns to the track this weekend at Thruxton, in search of better fortunes following a tough weekend at Snetterton last time out.
The Ciceley Motorsport driver heads to the Hampshire circuit for the seventh race weekend of what has been the Lancastrian’s most difficult British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) season to date.
Adam is hoping for consistent running, unhindered by damage or reliability issues, which has been easier said than done for most of the season.
Nevertheless, he has demonstrated his skill and race-craft in battling through the field on numerous occasions, reinforcing his claim as one of the best racers in the championship.
As the series moves to Thruxton, Adam and the Ciceley team will use lessons learned last time out to set the car up to be aggressive and fight for places in the top 10.
The team should have an idea of how the car will cope with the circuit, having raced there already this season.
Due to a new 2019 calendar, the BTCC also raced at Thruxton in May.
Then, Adam endured a tough weekend, finishing outside the top ten in the first two races, and then he failed to finish in the third and final race.
However, Adam had far better luck last season, when he lapped the 2.3-mile circuit fastest during qualifying to claim pole.
Sunday was a day to remember for Adam and the team, as he maintained his lead and took the win in Race One.
Following this, he claimed a fantastic second place in Race Two, followed by an eighth-place in Race Three.
A highlight of Adam’s 2018 BTCC season, Thruxton could well be the shot in the arm the Blackburn based outfit need as the latter stages of the 2019 season close in.
If you want to hear the latest news about Adam’s weekend, Adam and the Ciceley Motorsport team will regularly post updates on their social media throughout the weekend.
Qualifying at the Hampshire circuit begins at 15:25 on Saturday and Adam will be hoping to replicate last year’s pole position.
You can watch Adam’s race day unfold on Sunday, as all the action, as always, will be live on ITV4 from 11:30, with Race One starting at 12:15.
