Adam Morgan: Snetterton Preview

The British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) returns to the track this weekend at Snetterton.

Despite having four weeks away from the BTCC, the Pall-Ex supported racer Adam Morgan has been busy during July and is now setting his sights on a strong second half of the season.

He competed brilliantly in the Chinese Touring Car Championship (CTCC), earning a win and a third-place finish at the fourth round of the championship and most recently, Adam won at the Silverstone Classic.

It’s also been a busy time for the Ciceley Motorsport team, as they also won with James Turkington last weekend at Brands Hatch, in the TCR UK Championship.

As the BTCC moves into the second half of the season, Adam and the Ciceley Motorsport team are hoping for better fortunes, after the first half was dogged by incidents that often ended Adam’s races prematurely.

Currently sat in 15th position in the overall drivers’ championship, Adam is in need of a solid points haul in order to climb higher, and he will be hoping to eclipse last year’s finishing position of 7th in the championship.

Snetterton, a former World War Two airfield in Norfolk, is now owned by MotorSport Vision, the company headed up by former Formula One driver Johnathan Palmer.

The East Anglian circuit holds difficult memories for Adam and the team, recording two Did Not Finish (DNFs) in the three races during last year’s visit.

However, with the positive results in China and a solid test at Snetterton in July, Adam’s confidence should be high going into the weekend.

If you want to hear the latest news about Adam’s weekend, Adam and the Ciceley Motorsport team will regularly post updates on their social media throughout the weekend.

The track action commences on Saturday 3rd August, with the 30 minute qualifying session taking place at 15:00.

On Sunday 4th August, the lights will go out for Race One at 11:35, and as always, all the races will be live on ITV4.

Coverage of the whole day begins at 11:00, with coverage of all the track action.
